SIMA
A Brand Reborn, A Website Worthy of It
Swan Insurance Management Agency Ltd — SIMA — came to us with a freshly minted brand identity and a clear challenge: build a website that could carry its new visual language while making sense of a complex portfolio of specialty risk services. As "The MGA of Choice for Specialty Risk Solutions," they needed a digital presence that felt authoritative, refined, and immediately clear — to the right audience, in the right way.
Introduction
The Challenge of Clarity in a Complex IndustrySIMA operates across four distinct service lines — MGA, Intermediary, Advisory, and Ancillary — each serving different client needs within the specialty risk and reinsurance space. The risk of a website that tries to explain everything at once is that it explains nothing. Our job was to bring order to this complexity: give each service line its own space and voice, while keeping the overall experience cohesive and effortless to navigate.
Add to that a new brand identity that needed to be expressed digitally — not just applied — and you have a project that demanded as much care in strategy as in execution.
About the Design
Elegant by IntentionThe brief was clear: elegant, professional, and minimal — but with the brand as a living part of the design, not just a logo in the corner. SIMA's brand centres on the swan — a symbol of grace, precision, and quiet authority. We took that and wove it into the architecture of the site itself.
The swan appears as a large, ghosted watermark in key sections, bringing depth and presence without demanding attention. In the navigation overlay, a bold swan graphic sets the tone the moment a user opens the menu. In the CTA section, a second swan composition anchors the call to action with the same sense of calm confidence that defines the brand.

About the Visual Language
Dark, Glowing, and Distinctly SIMAWe chose a dark-mode palette — a deep near-black background contrasted against rich purples and electric gradients — to create a sense of depth and premium quality. This is not a typical insurance website. It’s a refined, immersive environment that communicates competence before a single word is read.
Soft glow effects on the hero and throughout sections add a layer of dimension — subtle enough to feel sophisticated rather than flashy. Every visual decision reinforces the same idea: SIMA is not ordinary.
About the Structure
Four Services, One Coherent ExperienceSIMA’s core business is as an MGA — Managing General Agent — providing specialised underwriting for complex risks. Alongside it, they offer Intermediary placements, Advisory strategy, and Ancillary services including 24/7 medical support and claims handling. These are meaningfully different offerings for meaningfully different moments in a client’s journey.
We structured the website around this reality. Each service line has its own dedicated pages — space to go into depth on specific products, use cases, and capabilities — without muddying the waters of the others. The navigation makes the distinction clear from the first interaction, so visitors can self-select into the right part of the site without friction.
The MGA services sit at the heart of the experience, with individual product sub-pages letting SIMA showcase each specialty offering in full detail. The other service lines are peers in the navigation — not afterthoughts.
About the Animations
Precision in MotionWe used GSAP and ScrollTrigger to build scroll-triggered animations that feel native to the site’s tone — precise, deliberate, and never overdone. As sections enter the viewport, images scale gently into place while text and content elements rise and fade in with a stagger that feels organic rather than mechanical.
The result is a site that feels alive without feeling busy. Every animation reinforces the sense that something considered is happening — the same feeling SIMA’s clients should have when they trust them with complex risks.
About the Technology
The Power of Astro: Built for a Global AudienceSIMA’s audience is global — operating across MENA, GCC, and ASEAN — and performance is not optional when your clients are senior insurance and reinsurance professionals who expect a seamless experience. We built the site on Astro, a framework that generates static pages with near-zero JavaScript overhead by default.
The result is a website that loads fast everywhere, is highly secure, and scales without effort — a solid foundation for a business operating at the level SIMA does.
About the CMS
Sanity CMS: Content in the Right HandsWith Sanity as the CMS backbone, SIMA’s team can manage every page, every service description, and every product detail — without touching a line of code. The system is structured to reflect how SIMA actually thinks about their content: by service line, by product, by audience.
This is a website built to grow with the business. When SIMA adds a new product or updates a service offering, their team can do it independently, quickly, and confidently.
A Platform Built to Last
The SIMA website is more than a digital business card — it’s a considered expression of a brand that knows exactly what it stands for, and a platform designed to communicate that clearly to the right people, in the right way.
We’re proud to have been part of this chapter of SIMA’s story, and confident that the foundation we’ve built is ready for wherever it takes them next.
